Not bad for a fic that had no point past chapter three, was it? I’ve received plenty of mail over the months saying how much people enjoyed it, and I still love to hear it.
I just thought I’d take a second to give some background on this relatively short fic. It originally started out as just an idea to get Ranma and Shampoo together. I intended to write a fic where Ranma winds up with each fiancée and I thought I’d do my favorite first. Then it was a name. Suddenly Shampoo stuck in my head, and I knew that had to be the title. Of course it was almost a month later before there was a story, and when I got the story, there was Chapter Three. Actually it was the second half to chapter three. I wrote that before any of the rest of the fic, but there was no point putting it at the beginning of the story.
Next in the progression of the fic was chapter two. The Ukyou story was just something that came to me while I was in my thinking place (the bathroom). A totally original way of hooking up Konatsu and Ukyou, I really think that chapter was what got everybody’s attention. Too bad I probably lost a few people after that. J
Then finally came chapter one! The fic was released because I couldn’t get the stinking idea out of my head! It went public and all was well, at least until it came time for chapter four. I had already done everything I had thought out and all the sudden I needed a story. Sufficed to say, I think I faked a good story through seven more chapters.
